About the Role
Zeebra Junction Specialist Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Co-generation Manager / Engineer to join their team in South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the co-generation unit, ensuring optimal power generation and export to the grid while maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of the co-generation unit, both operations, and maintenance.
- Budgeting and monitoring production volumes and R&M expenses and adhering to budgets.
- Maximizing power generation and export to the grid while ensuring sufficient LP steam is sent to the process house.
- Optimal operation of 3 high pressure boilers (2 x45kgcm-2, 1x 67kgcm-2) and 2 TAs (1x30MW, 1x21MW).
- Grid synchronization.
- Planning preventive and productive maintenance of boilers and turbines.
- Spares management.
- Continuous improvement of efficiency parameters.
- Maintaining high safety standards.
- Training and developing staff, particularly national employees.
- Monitoring and controlling HP boiler water treatment.
Requirements
Mechanical Engineering Graduate with a minimum of 15 years experience in the sugar industry. At least 5 years’ experience as head of the co-generation unit is required.
