This role requires strong programming capability, solid database expertise, and experience working within enterprise data environments
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence and analytics solutions.
- Analyse structured and semi-structured data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
- Build predictive and descriptive models to support business decision-making.
- Develop and optimise complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
- Create interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Implement and manage data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Apply sound data modelling techniques and design principles.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and performance across BI platforms.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Actuarial Sciences.
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist within a data science or modelling environment.
- Strong insurance industry experience and/or an actuarial background is highly desirable.
- Data Science & Machine Learning; Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn
- Business Intelligence & Visualisation: Power BI
- Data Engineering & Platform, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
- Programming Languages: Python, R, Java, C, C#
- Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Concepts: Data modelling techniques, Analytics and solution design principles
