POSITION: Proposals & Tenders Engineer LOCATION: Roodepoort REPORTING TO : Proposals Manager JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT : Assist and guide all customers by generating technically acceptable tenders and proposals. Expeditious processing of RFQâ??s as per customer requirement. _______________________________________________________________________________ KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES): Customer Interaction Work with customers to create suitable tenders and proposals. Understand customer needs and develop solutions. Handle customer visits and assist with queries. Managing Tenders and RFQs (Request for Quotes) Record tender opportunities in the CRM system. Determine quote feasibility by checking customer RFQs. Prepare technical materials and system designs for tenders. Ensure all technical and commercial requirements are met. Ensure timely delivery of tenders to customers as requested. Collaboration Use tools to select products that meet customer needs. Collaborate with engineers for cost-effective solutions. Ensure accurate costing with the Engineering and Workshop Manager. Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, assuring continuous quality improvement & safety awareness. Supporting Sales Assist the sales team in gathering project details and representing the company. Use the entire product range to meet customer goals. Pricing and Cost Analyse costs and obtain supplier quotes. Create accurate pricing schedules based on RFQs. Order Processing Acknowledge customer orders and assist with order-specific queries. Supplier and Product Support Work with suppliers to resolve issues. Provide support for technical queries. ACADEMIC / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: – Grade 12 – Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) (B-Tech Advantageous) – Administrative Qualification (advantageous) EXPERIENCE: – 3 years DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Industry Related Experience – Experience in sales – Customer Relations Experience – MS Office Proficient KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES : – Customer Service Orientation – Effective Time Management – High level of interpersonal and communication skills – Execute tasks effectively – Analyse issues and solve problems – Strong Technical Writing Skills BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: – Enthusiastically productive – Produce and maintain effective business results – Sharing Functional Expertise – Effective resource management – Maintain focus and self-control – Maintaining effective relationships – Strong interpersonal skills â?? successful candidates will communicate effectively, verbally and written. – Highly organized, excellent problem solver, strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
