About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and technically minded External Sales Representative to join our team in the manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and providing technical support and product training to customers.

This role requires a proactive individual with excellent people skills, a strong sales drive, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive sales calls and visits.
• Promote and specify company products to targeted customers.
• Provide technical support, product demonstrations, and customer training.
• Prepare, compile, and follow up on quotations and tenders.
• Confirm pricing, stock levels, and assist with supplier liaison where required.
• Ensure effective customer liaison, including handling complaints professionally.
• Update customer records and sales-related administration.
• Attend exhibitions and represent the company at industry events.
• Assist internal sales team when required.

Requirements

• Minimum: Grade 12 qualification.
• Preferred: Training in electronics/electricity and practical work experience as an electrician or in external/internal sales.
• Technically minded with strong problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure.
• Self-starter, motivated to achieve results, and able to work independently.
• Strong customer service orientation and persuasive sales ability.
• Presentable, punctual, and professional at all times.
• Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.

Skills & Knowledge:

Experience:

Minimum 2 years sales experience in automotive parts

We also offer a comprehensive range of medium voltage cable accessories, including CiP, Elcon Megarad, Ampletek, and Melec brands, which meet industry standards for applications up to 36 kV. Additionally, our AHMR right-angled and AHMS straight anti-tracking heat shrinkable bushing boots are designed to insulate and seal switchgear and transformer bushings, ensuring protection where air clearances are limited.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and client visits.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
• Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and trends.
• Present and promote the company’s products, including Heatshrink and other extruded products, to prospective clients.
• Provide technical product knowledge and guidance to clients.
• Negotiate contracts and close sales deals.
• Meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
• Provide clients with excellent customer service and support.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Prepare and submit regular sales reports and forecasts.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in external sales, preferably in manufacturing, industrial products, or a related industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels.
• Technical understanding of electrical cable accessories and industrial products is an advantage.
• Self-motivated and results oriented.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid drivers license and own reliable transport.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software is an advantage.
