About the Role
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily fleet operations and ensuring the efficient management of our rail and logistics vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and utilize your experience in fleet management to drive cost savings and improve overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily fleet operations and vehicle allocation
- Monitor fuel usage, mileage, and vehicle performance
- Manage procurement, maintenance, servicing, and repairs
- Maintain accurate inspection and service records
- Schedule preventative maintenance
- Cost Control & Budgeting: manage fleet budget (fuel, maintenance, insurance, replacements) and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Driver & Safety Management: enforce driver policies and safety standards, monitor driver performance, and investigate incidents
- Manage insurance claims and risk mitigation
- Reporting & Stakeholder Management: prepare fleet performance reports and support audits and compliance checks
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Operations or related field
- 35 years experience in fleet/transport management
- Experience managing a medium to large fleet
- Strong planning and financial management skills
- Knowledge of transport legislation
- MS Office & fleet management systems proficiency
Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
