We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and energetic all-rounder to support our daily retail, warehouse, and delivery operations. This role requires a hands-on individual who enjoys staying active, working with customers, and contributing to a small, high-performing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring excellent customer service, efficient deliveries, accurate stock handling, safe equipment operation, and overall smooth business operations. Customer service is the highest priority in this role. Preference will be given to candidates residing in or near: Edenvale, Greenstone, Bedfordview, Kensington, Germiston, Kempton Park, Boksburg, or surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities 1. Customer Service (Primary Focus) Provide professional and courteous assistance to walk-in customers Assist customers with product selection and loading goods into vehicles Prepare, wrap, and dispatch customer and courier parcels Maintain strong customer relationships and deliver a consistently positive experience Report discrepancies or issues to management Support company vision and operational standards 2. Driving & Deliveries Operate company vehicle (Code 10 with valid PDP) Conduct local deliveries and collections Collect stock from suppliers Plan efficient delivery routes using GPS Complete delivery notes, route sheets, and required documentation accurately Maintain cleanliness and care of company vehicles Assist with loading and off-loading goods 3. Warehouse & Stock Handling Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately Load and off-load stock safely Receive and verify stock against purchase orders Inspect stock for damages and discrepancies Repackage and shelve stock appropriately Maintain accurate stock control and replenishment Operate forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided if required) Assist with merchandising and general warehouse organization 4. Machine & Equipment Operation Operate manufacturing and packaging machinery (including wood wool machine) Package finished products Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely Maintain equipment in good working condition 5. Stock Take & Inventory Participate in compulsory monthly stock takes (one Saturday per month) Conduct stock counts and assist with inventory control Report shortages, damages, or inconsistencies 6. General Operations & Maintenance Perform general operational and maintenance tasks Maintain cleanliness of store, warehouse, factory, and vehicles Ensure workspaces are safe, organized, and compliant Assist management with daily operational tasks and errands Follow lawful and reasonable instructions 7. Administration & Compliance Complete picking slips, delivery notes, invoices, and related paperwork accurately Follow company systems, procedures, and policies Demonstrate initiative and proactive problem-solving Communicate clearly with management and team members Maintain a positive and professional impact within the team Key Requirements Minimum Requirements Code 10 Drivers Licence with PDP (essential) Minimum 2 years driving experience 12 years experience in warehouse, retail, logistics, or delivery environment Physically fit and able to lift and handle goods regularly Good knowledge of local routes and GPS navigation Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic mathematics and administrative skills Clear written and verbal communication skills Matric (Maths and English preferred) Advantageous Forklift licence (or willingness to undergo training) Experience operating pallet jacks or warehouse equipment Basic stock control knowledge General maintenance or handyman experience Key Competencies & Attributes Reliable and punctual Proactive and self-motivated Strong work ethic Positive Can Do attitude Team player with flexibility Well-organised and able to plan effectively Customer-focused mindset Ability to work independently and under supervision Performance Indicators Performance will be assessed based on Quality of customer service Accuracy of order preparation and documentation Safe driving record Productivity and reliability Teamwork and attitude Attendance and punctuality Care of stock, vehicles, and equipment Compliance with procedures and instructions Working Conditions Retail, warehouse, and factory environment Regular standing, walking, and lifting Operating machinery and vehicles Six-day work week (Monday to Saturday) Monthly compulsory stock take (one Saturday per month, full day)
