About the Role
We are partnering with a leading entity in the South African energy sector to appoint a visionary executive to establish and lead the Transformation Management Office (TMO). This newly created role is pivotal to one of the country’s most ambitious national imperatives: building an independent transmission system operator and delivering a multi-billion Rand infrastructure and market reform programme. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will drive strategic coordination, governance, and oversight at the highest level – shaping the future of the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the TMO, including structure, governance, and methodologies
- Oversee high-profile programmes, ensuring strategic alignment and delivery
- Standardise and integrate transformation initiatives into operations
- Engage with regulators, government, and development finance institutions
- Guide contracting strategies and funding structures
- Drive organisational change to embed cultural and operational transformation
Requirements
- Honours (NQF8) in Engineering, Business Management, or Commerce; MBA is highly advantageous
- 10 years leading complex transformation or infrastructure projects in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or capital-intensive sectors
- Expertise: Building and leading a Transformation/Programme Management Office
- Executive oversight of multi-billion Rand programmes
- Corporate unbundling, mergers, or legal separation processes
- Engagement with regulators and government entities
- Managing commercial and contracting strategies for large-scale projects
