About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a Head of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) who will be responsible for the design, management, and direction of the client’s organizational MEL strategy and methodology. This role aims to assess and track the social impact across all interventions and support participating companies in building and refining their own impact MEL frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implementation: Oversee the design and implementation of the programme’s MEL systems.
- KPIs and Tools: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), targets, MEL tools, and define MEL responsibilities across the programme and related activities.
- MEL Tool Development and Dissemination: Create relevant M&E tools and formats; lead the provision of M&E-specific technical training.
- Data Management and Quality: Oversee data collection, collation, storage, analysis, and reporting, ensuring data reliability and high quality.
- Team Leadership and Management: Manage and support MEL staff, including recruitment and onboarding.
- External Evaluations: Coordinate external evaluation processes, including drafting Terms of Reference (ToR) and selecting firms where appropriate.
- Reporting and Communication: Oversee, direct, and review data analysis and the writing of select sections of programme reports in collaboration with the programme team.
- Applied Learning and Adaptation: Lead the team in routine data reviews and interpretation for learning and adaptation; package and disseminate timely findings.
- Thought Leadership: Produce thought leadership pieces relevant to programme data.
- Partnerships and Business Development Reporting: Develop and deliver regular reports and presentations to support the partnerships and business development division, ensuring effective communication of data and insights to stakeholders.
- CAPACITI Storytelling: Present CAPACITIs results in a meaningful and impactful way for various funders, creating compelling narratives and reports that effectively communicate programme impact and value.
- Corporate Funder Reporting: Be responsible for reporting to corporate funders, ensuring all reports meet their specific requirements and expectations, leveraging experience in this area.
- Specialist Oversight: Provide oversight and guidance to quality and accreditation specialists, data specialists, and project specialists to ensure high standards and effective project management.
Requirements
Graduate degree (or relevant professional experience) in social sciences, development studies, psychology, or a similar field.
5+ years of progressive experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) managerial roles.
