Job Description This role supports the Reinsurance Contract Wording Specialist by assisting with the drafting, reviewing, and standardising of Treaty and Facultative Reinsurance Contract Wordings, Slips, Clauses, and Cover Notes. The Junior Assistant will help guide internal teams on wording interpretation, support client and reinsurer queries, participate in renewal planning, assist with training, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to ensuring all contract wordings meet best-practice and market requirements. Candidates must have strong commercial underwriting experience, excellent understanding of commercial policy wordings, and the ability to work accurately, analytically, and collaboratively within a technical reinsurance environment. Qualifications Matric (Grade 12). RE5 (FAIS Compliant). NQF Level 5 qualification. Minimum of 5 years Commercial Underwriting experience in an underwriting role. Strong understanding and interpretation of commercial insurance policy wordings (non-negotiable). Reinsurance experience advantageous. Skills Strong technical comprehension of commercial insurance wordings. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Analytical and structured approach to technical documentation. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a specialist team. Organised, deadline-driven, and capable of handling multiple tasks.
