About the Role
Telebest, a leading financial institution, is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Manager to join our team in Sandton. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing credit risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing expert advice to stakeholders. With 10-15 years of experience in credit risk management and a proven track record of structuring complex transactions, this role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess problematic areas and find resolutions to provide best practice solutions for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Review and ensure each Credit and Investment submission is in alignment with the corporation’s participation templates.
- Present Credit Risk Opinions, obtain CEM participation, and indicate final credit structure requirements.
- Continuously assess relevance and propose enhancements to the credit risk methodologies, processes, and systems for assessing and managing credit risks.
- Ensure the Credit Origination unit adopts best governance standards related to transactional conflicts.
- Perform credit checks and deed searches on prospective and existing clients.
- Attend and present at Credit committees and Executive Policy meetings when required.
Requirements
- CA or BCom postgraduate qualification.
- MBA would be advantageous.
- 10 to 15 years of credit risk experience in a financial institution.
- 3+ years managing teams directly or indirectly.
- Experience in risk mitigation standards and processes.
- Proven track record in the structuring of complex transactions or projects.
- Portfolio management experience would be advantageous.
Qualifications
- CA (Chartered Accountant) or BCom (Bachelor of Commerce) postgraduate qualification.
