Key Responsibilities: Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and detailed designs for mechanical systems. Prepare accurate calculation notes, detailed designs, BOQs, and material take-offs. Ensure all designs comply with South African (SANS) and international codes (e.g., ASHRAE, ISO, NFPA). Coordinate mechanical designs with other disciplines to prevent clashes. Support procurement by evaluating supplier quotations and recommending the most suitable options. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to compile complete project bids, ensuring technical, financial, and commercial accuracy. Conduct QA/QC on designs, mentor CAD operators, and provide technical support during project execution. Prepare as-built documentation and Operation & Maintenance manuals. Qualifications & Experience: B. Engineering in Mechanical or equivalent. ECSA registration as Pr. Eng. Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical design and estimation for MEP/EPC projects. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related mechanical systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, or similar design and estimation software. Experience with procurement, supplier evaluation, and cost analysis. Knowledge of standard contract forms (FIDIC, JBCC, NEC) is a plus.
