About the Role
Hire Resolve is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Billing Agent to join our client’s team in Johannesburg. As a Medical Billing Agent, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical claims, resolving billing issues, and ensuring compliance with coding and billing regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture patient data accurately and efficiently
- Handle billing processes for various Specialist Doctors, Allied Health Professionals, and General Practitioners (GPs)
- Possess expert knowledge of charge codes and ICD-10 codes for Specialists, Allied Health Professionals, and GPs
- Optimise billing processes to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy
- Understand and adhere to various medical aid agreements and billing practices
- Pay meticulous attention to detail and follow each practice’s specific requirements
- Address and resolve billing queries promptly
- Conduct double-checking and auditing of billing entries
- Maintain accurate records of billing queries and resolutions
- Stay updated on new billing rules and industry standards through continuous learning
- Follow the South African Medical Association (SAMA) billing guide
- Manage receipting and distribution of billing in the supervisor’s absence
- Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum Matric
- Basic and Intermediate ICD-10 coding
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing
