Hire Resolve is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Billing Agent to join our client’s team in Johannesburg. As a Medical Billing Agent, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical claims, resolving billing issues, and ensuring compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Capture patient data accurately and efficiently
• Handle billing processes for various Specialist Doctors, Allied Health Professionals, and General Practitioners (GPs)
• Possess expert knowledge of charge codes and ICD-10 codes for Specialists, Allied Health Professionals, and GPs
• Optimise billing processes to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy
• Understand and adhere to various medical aid agreements and billing practices
• Pay meticulous attention to detail and follow each practices specific requirements
• Address and resolve billing queries promptly
• Conduct double-checking and auditing of billing entries
• Maintain accurate records of billing queries and resolutions
• Stay updated on new billing rules and industry standards through continuous learning
• Follow the South African Medical Association (SAMA) billing guide
• Manage receipting and distribution of billing in the supervisors absence
• Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and other stakeholders

Requirements

• Minimum Matric
• Basic and Intermediate ICD-10 coding
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient data capturin
• Billing for a variety of Specialist Doctors, Allieds, GPs
•  Have expert knowledge of charge codes and ICD10 codes for all Specialist doctors, Allieds and GPs
• Billing optimisation
• Understanding and adhering to the various medical aid agreements in terms of billing
• Attention to detail and abide by each practices specific requirements
• Handle billing queries
• Double–check/audit billing
• Record keeping of queries
• Keep up to date with new billing rules in the industry by any means necessary.
• Follow the SAMA billing guide
• Receipting and distribution of billing (when the supervisor is on leave)
• Excellent communication
