About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented National Stock Controller to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing, controlling, and optimizing our entire stock holding across our national operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, control, and optimize entire stock holding across national operations
- Monitor stock movement and accuracy, reconcile inventory discrepancies, support procurement planning, and ensure production, sales, and logistics teams have the required stock to meet operational and customer demands
- Reconcile, investigate, and adjust approved stock variances
- Assist finance and procurement with stock queries relating to raw materials and final products
- Manage stock holding for sales and branches
- Ensure all queries are resolved and cut-off times are met before stocktaking
- Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and audits
- Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Implement stock rotation procedures (FIFO/LIFO) to reduce waste and spoilage, especially for perishable packaging materials
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management review
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operations Management, or a related field
- Previous experience working within a stock or inventory management role, preferably in food manufacturing or packaging, or related industries
- Experience managing stock across multiple sites or branches is advantageous
- Strong understanding of perishable inventory management, stock rotation, and warehouse operations
- Proficiency with ERP/inventory management systems (e.g. Syspro or SAP)
Qualifications
- Completed tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operations Management
