About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled National Stock Controller to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our national stock holding across multiple sites and branches. With a strong background in supply chain management or logistics, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, control, and optimize entire stock holding across national operations
- Monitor stock movement and accuracy, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and support procurement planning
- Ensure production, sales, and logistics teams have required stock to meet operational and customer demands
- Reconcile, investigate, and adjust approved stock variances
- Assist finance and procurement with stock queries relating to raw materials and final products
- Manage stock holding for sales and branches
- Ensure all queries are resolved and cut off times are met before stocktaking
- Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and audits
- Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Implement stock rotation procedures (FIFO/LIFO) to reduce waste and spoilage, especially for perishable packaging materials
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics or Operations Management, or a related field
- Previous experience in stock or inventory management role, preferably in food manufacturing or packaging industry
- Experience managing stock across multiple sites or branches is advantageous
- Strong understanding of perishable inventory management, stock rotation, and warehouse operations
- Proficiency with ERP/inventory management systems (e.g. Syspro or SAP)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field
