About the Role

An international freight forwarding company is seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven professional to join their dynamic Business Development and Sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and analyse market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity to uncover new business prospects.
  • Source and develop new leads through networking, cold calling, and targeted industry research.
  • Build, strengthen, and maintain productive relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing high-quality proposals, client presentations, and sales pitches.
  • Update and maintain accurate sales pipeline reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and product development teams to ensure alignment on strategic objectives.
  • Prepare reports detailing business development progress and outcomes.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote the brand and develop new contacts.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in sales, marketing, or business development IN FREIGHT FORWARDING with exposure to both South African and international markets.
  • Solid understanding of sales principles and market research techniques.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable using CRM systems.

Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline is highly preferable. Additional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development will be an advantage.
