About the role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Principal Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities within the Solar Energy sector.

• Lead and manage the design, specification, and implementation of electrical systems for major projects.
• Oversee electrical engineering deliverables including schematics, layouts, single-line diagrams, and load calculations.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Conduct technical reviews, site inspections, and system testing.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, civil, and project management teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Your primary duties will include leading a team of engineers, designing and implementing solar energy systems, and providing technical expertise for project development. 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng / BSc)
• ECSA registration (Pr.Eng) or eligibility preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical design, construction, or commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems (LV, MV, HV).
• Experience with AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar design software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
