Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and review application scorecards, including reject inference and validation methodologies.
- Lead feature engineering efforts to boost model accuracy and business relevance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align scoring strategies with commercial goals.
- Develop predictive solutions in low-data environments, especially for SME lending.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts and data scientists.
- Present technical concepts to senior stakeholders with confidence and clarity.
- Drive thought leadership in credit risk modelling and best practices.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on key business priorities.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BSc/BCom in Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering (or related quantitative field).
- Minimum 8 years’ hands-on experience in application scoring and credit risk modelling.
- Strong proficiency in SAS (non-negotiable); experience with Paragon Modeler is advantageous.
- Proven record in scorecard development, reject inference, model validation, and feature engineering.
- Experience across multiple industries (banking, fintech, telecoms, insurance, retail, etc.) will be highly regarded.
- Exceptional communication skills, strategic mindset, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience with SME lending, alternative credit scoring, or ML-driven scoring solutions.
