Job Description
- Provide application support to users: respond to, resolve, and log in-bound customer calls, identify issues, and deliver both immediate and long-term solutions.
- Investigate and analyse system issues to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in the design and delivery of system developments and enhancements, ensuring alignment with budgets, timelines, specifications, and industry standards.
- Offer system knowledge and consultancy for divisional and cross-divisional projects, ensuring business process requirements and best practices are met.
- Review and recommend continuous improvements for systems and support processes.
- Document technical information and processes for existing and newly developed functionality to maintain up-to-date system support.
- Maintain data quality and integrity within systems.
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
- Perform system maintenance tasks according to agreed schedules.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of application support experience, covering infrastructure and operational aspects.
- Experience with IT Service Management ticketing systems (JIRA Service Management preferred).
- Intermediate-to-advanced SQL expertise, including stored procedures, queries, triggers, jobs, and general database management. Understanding SQL replication is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience supporting and maintaining production systems in a customer-facing environment.
- Ability to organize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with database systems, reporting, and query tools.
- Demonstrable technical aptitude and a desire to provide excellent customer service.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-year tertiary qualification from an accredited university in Commerce, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong understanding of SQL, including system design and implementation.
- Knowledge of financial markets is advantageous.
- Excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ambitious, dynamic, and ethical team player with a strong desire for self-improvement.
