About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Careers In Motion in Johannesburg. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse department and ensuring that all goods are properly received, stored, and dispatched. You will also be responsible for implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive down costs and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Control and supervision of staff in the warehouse department
- Ensure proper receipt of all goods into the warehouse via electronic means (and manually where required)
- Assist with and control the break bulk function and proper marking of items and storage within the warehouse
- Ensure that proper stock records are kept and that goods are rotated on F.I.F.O basis
- Take stock and cycle counts as often as agreed with customer
- Report to management
- Ensure proper security is in place so that no unauthorized persons have access to the warehouse
- Responsible for the health and safety of employees within the facility
- Responsible for managing the operational costs against the budget and reporting back to management
- Drawing up of the operational cost budget
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous
- A minimum of 3 years management experience within a warehouse environment
- Must have at least 3 years experience in the Courier/Logistics industry
- Code 10 valid Drivers License and a valid Public Drivers Permit (PDP)
- Own transport essential
