Responsibilities: Financial Accounting & Taxation: Assist Implementing financial business systems, processes and structures Assist Implementing and monitor policies, procedures, processes and internal controls across the business Maintaining the financial accounting system to ensure accurate data integrity during reporting Regulatory Reporting – Prepare financial reports. Conduct analysis of and report on results Manage General Ledger and sub ledger accounts Manage Creditors payments & Debtors recoveries Maintaining fixed asset controls/register Review provisional and annual tax returns and payments thereof Review VAT returns and any complete other statutory returns required Review transfer pricing performed by external party Management Accounting: Prepare monthly management accounts and other reportable documents for review by the Finance Manager/CFO Prepare quarterly packs and other reportable documents for review by the Finance Manage/CFO Assist with profitability management related to motorcycle and outboard motor departments Assist with management Planning and Control planning of expenses, capital budgets, etc Assist with the coordination of budgets and profit forecasts Manage accurate costing methods Assist with managing the treasury function and any cash resources (in-house /outsourced) Dealership Financial Reporting: Profitability management across all dealerships Review timeous, accurate and complete Dealer monthly financial reporting Regulatory Reporting – Prepare financial reports. Conduct analysis of and report on Dealer monthly financial results and viability Payroll Management: Assist to effectively manage in-house or outsourced payroll function Ensure monthly salaries and statutory deductions are made and paid timeously Ensure expense claims / payments adhere to Human resource policies Manage the payments of Grants, Bursaries and Education and possible tax allowances in respect of Skills Development Act People Management and Office Administration: Effectively manage reporting of staff, including but not limited to Senior Credit Controller, Accountants etc Perform evaluations, training assessments and disciplinary action (if required) with above staff Risk Management: Assist to manage risk according to company philosophy and methodology Ensure adherence to good corporate governance Assist in managing internal / external audit processes Other: Provide input regarding financial goals and objectives aligned to company strategy Financial evaluation of new business ventures, i.e. appointment of new Dealers Contracts Management manage relationships with suppliers Manage Action Project record (managerial decision-making process record) Requirements / Qualifications: 2-5 years related experience in Automotive industry as an Assistant Financial Manager Newly Qualified CA or B-Com Accounting degree with audit articles and subsequent experience of 1-5 years out of articles Basic legal knowledge Willingness to work overtime when required Potential candidates may be required to undergo psychometric testing Local travel approximately once a quarter National travel approximately once a year (if applicable) Motor Industry experience Essential Skills / Attributes: Sound business acumen good general business skills Effective communication skills Good decision-making skills Effective presentation skills Good leadership skills The ability to work in cross-functional teams High level of computer literacy essential Sound understanding of information systems (IT) as a business enabler Ability to establish new systems, policies and procedures Please note only candidates with the required experience will be contacted and considered.
