About the Role
The Manager Technical Sales will support business development and sales activities for Transformers and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) across the Sub-Saharan Africa region. The role focuses on building strong commercial relationships, supporting bidding processes, developing strategic accounts, and acting as the voice of the customer within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior management in sales, bidding preparation, and account management activities within the Sub-Saharan Africa region
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing customers to identify and develop new business opportunities
- Maintain regular communication with customers and internal stakeholders under senior management guidance
- Review tender documents (RFQs), covering both commercial and technical requirements, and coordinate with the proposal team
- Develop a solid understanding of transformer and GIS technology platforms to support technical discussions and clarification processes
- Collect and organize customer requirements and technical challenges to help define fit-for-purpose solutions
- Support follow-up activities for awarded projects to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction
- Prepare sales reports, pipeline updates, and market intelligence summaries
- Assist in the preparation of bidding proposals and clarification documentation
Requirements
National Diploma, B.Tech, or B.Sc. degree (preferably in Electrical Engineering)
57 years of sales or business development experience within the power or utilities sector
Experience working with ESKOM/NTCSA or similar utilities
Strong understanding of utility tender, purchase order, and project execution processes
