About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CA(SA) with a passion for financial analysis and leadership to join our dynamic team as a Senior Financial Accountant in Johannesburg. As a key member of our Finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and performance of income and expense accounting, while driving business growth through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse Head Office IT income and expenses against budget, identifying and explaining variances
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
- Compile and review Board reporting packs (IT related)
- Manage and account for borrowings and finance costs (internal and external), ensuring compliance with agreements and timeous payments
- Support the annual budgeting process for IT expenditure and finance-related income/costs
- Prepare audit schedules and liaise with internal and external auditors
- Review accounting reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
- Provide technical accounting support to the business
- Engage with internal stakeholders and respond to queries with a strong customer-centric approach
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and standardisation
- Lead and manage a small team (minimum 3 staff members)
- Participate in and drive ad hoc projects
Requirements
- CA(SA) qualification is absolutely essential – do not apply if you are not a CA(SA)
- Minimum 4 years post-articles experience in a commercial finance environment
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, borrowings and finance cost accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, basic macros)
- SAP experience is advantageous
