About the Role

Our esteemed client, a prominent multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm renowned for its innovative problem-solving capabilities, is in search of a seasoned Senior Geotechnical Engineer to bolster their Johannesburg team. This role is pivotal in providing specialized geotechnical engineering expertise across diverse projects, from inception to fruition.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough geotechnical investigations, site assessments, and feasibility studies to evaluate ground conditions and offer tailored recommendations for engineering ventures.
Prepare meticulous geotechnical reports encompassing insightful interpretations of site investigations, comprehensive analysis of geotechnical data, and well-founded design proposals.
Execute geotechnical analyses utilizing cutting-edge software and methodologies, including but not limited to slope stability analysis, foundation design, and numerical modeling.
Provide adept technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical personnel, fostering professional growth within the team.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure strict adherence to project requirements and pertinent regulations.
Actively engage in project meetings, site visits, and inspections as deemed necessary to uphold project integrity.
Contribute to the firm’s business development initiatives, including but not limited to proposal formulation, client presentations, and networking endeavors.
Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in geotechnical engineering, integrating relevant knowledge into project deliverables.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BEng) in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
Possess Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligibility to obtain such registration.
Bring to the table a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering, with a specific focus on the Transport sector.
