About the Role
Our esteemed client, a prominent multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm renowned for its innovative problem-solving capabilities, is in search of a seasoned Senior Geotechnical Engineer to bolster their Johannesburg team. This role is pivotal in providing specialized geotechnical engineering expertise across diverse projects, from inception to fruition.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough geotechnical investigations, site assessments, and feasibility studies to evaluate ground conditions and offer tailored recommendations for engineering ventures.
- Prepare meticulous geotechnical reports encompassing insightful interpretations of site investigations, comprehensive analysis of geotechnical data, and well-founded design proposals.
- Execute geotechnical analyses utilizing cutting-edge software and methodologies, including but not limited to slope stability analysis, foundation design, and numerical modeling.
- Provide adept technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical personnel, fostering professional growth within the team.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure strict adherence to project requirements and pertinent regulations.
- Actively engage in project meetings, site visits, and inspections as deemed necessary to uphold project integrity.
- Contribute to the firm’s business development initiatives, including but not limited to proposal formulation, client presentations, and networking endeavors.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in geotechnical engineering, integrating relevant knowledge into project deliverables.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BEng) in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Possess Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligibility to obtain such registration.
- Bring to the table a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering, with a specific focus on the Transport sector.
