About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our multidisciplinary team in Cape Town City Centre, responsible for delivering complex engineering projects across various sectors. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical leadership skills, excellent analytical capabilities, and a proven track record of driving project success.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and professional growth
Define clear objectives, monitor team performance, and support succession planning while encouraging continuous skills development
Oversee the entire engineering project lifecycle, including design, implementation, and delivery of structural, electrical, HVAC, and automation systems
Review, approve, and standardize technical drawings, documentation, and project deliverables to ensure quality and consistency
Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and regulatory compliance across all projects
Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex projects, coordinating effectively with internal teams, contractors, and external partners

Requirements

8+ years of engineering experience, including 35 years in a management role leading engineering teams
Proven success in delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects in industrial or infrastructure sectors
Strong technical leadership with excellent analytical and systems-thinking capabilities
Experienced in mentoring and developing high-performing teams
Solid understanding of electrical, automation, HVAC, and integrated third-party systems
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field
Professional registration (or eligibility) advantageous
In-depth knowledge of engineering governance, quality assurance, and compliance frameworks
Proven ability to lead engineering teams in project-driven environments
