About the Role
Holobye Trading 2 (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Horticultural Specialist (Project Manager) to join our team in Johannesburg South. As a key member of our horticulture department, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of plant care and management, as well as providing expert technical advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant Care & Maintenance: Pruning, trimming, weeding, watering, and fertilizing trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants.
- Propagation & Cultivation: Handling seeds, cuttings, and grafting to cultivate new plant stock.
- Disease & Pest Management: Identifying, diagnosing, and treating plant diseases or infestations using chemical or organic methods.
- Soil & Environmental Control: Testing soil pH, nutrient levels, and drainage to optimize growth conditions.
- Landscape Design & Installation: Designing and implementing planting plans for parks, gardens, or greenhouses to maximize aesthetic appeal.
- Research & Technical Advice: Conducting research on plant growth cycles, genetics, or new varieties, and providing expert consultation on horticulture techniques.
- Operational Management: Operating machinery, managing inventory, maintaining irrigation systems, and supervising work crews or volunteers.
