Job Summary
Key
Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Actuarial Function in preparing reports for management and board committees, including statutory reports.
- Develop and implement product development, pricing, and product management strategies across the business.
- Manage and govern model governance processes.
- Lead various ad-hoc projects related to product management, valuation bases, solvency, and financial reporting.
- Review and report on matters related to the Actuarial Function within the organization.
- Collaborate with the Head of Risk and Capital Analytics on capital, stress testing, and solvency projections.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Registered with the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) or a similar professional body.
- Qualified Actuary (FASSA, AMASSA, or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience with exposure to financial reporting.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of long-term insurance products and product management.
- Extensive experience with financial reporting (IFRS, EV, SAM) in a life insurance company.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, while maintaining awareness of the regulatory and commercial environment.
- Strong project and process management skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior management.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence.
- Ability to manage competing demands and deadlines.
- A self-starter with a strong desire to add value and drive development.
