Job Description

Design and review primary and secondary substation layouts and drawings Perform equipment sizing and selection (transformers, switchgear, protection systems) Develop technical specifications, scopes of work, and bill of quantities Oversee substation construction, installation, testing, and commissioning Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and utility standards Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams Support protection, control, and SCADA integration where required Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and project timelines Minimum Requirements BEng / BSc in Electrical Engineering 38 years experience in substation engineering (HV/MV) Strong knowledge of primary and/or secondary substation systems Experience with Eskom, municipal, or IPP standards (advantageous) Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit or similar tools advantageous) Willingness to travel to site when required Professional Registration ECSA registration (PrEng / PrTech / PrTechniEng) advantageous or in progress Apply now!
