About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Developer Lead to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our engineering leadership, you will be responsible for setting technical direction and driving continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across core platform services
- Design and implement scalable, secure cloud-based solutions
- Remain actively involved in coding and architectural decisions
- Lead and mentor a team of 46 developers
- Conduct structured code reviews and enforce best practices
- Work closely with Product and QA to deliver high-quality releases
- Contribute to architectural strategy within a hybrid cloud environment
- Drive modernisation initiatives and support legacy migration efforts
- Explore and embed AI-driven efficiencies into development processes
Requirements
- 8 years experience in software development
- 3 years experience in a management or technical leadership role
- 5 years hands-on Angular experience
- Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience with Firebase/Firestore advantageous
- Proven experience working on scalable, production-level systems
