About the Role
The Technical Migration Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end migration of technical systems, applications, and data within a banking and finance environment. This role ensures that migration projects are planned, executed, and delivered efficiently, with minimal disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Owns end-to-end technical solutions, mapping and orchestration.
- Lead and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of complex technical migration projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
- Develop detailed migration strategies, including risk assessments, contingency plans, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with business units, technical teams, and third-party suppliers to ensure clear communication and smooth migration processes.
- Oversee the preparation and validation of migration environments, including data extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
- Monitor migration progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security policies, and internal governance frameworks throughout the migration process.
- Provide regular status reports and updates to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Facilitate post-migration reviews to assess outcomes, capture lessons learned, and recommend improvements for future initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to migration plans, processes, and technical configurations.
- Support knowledge transfer and training sessions to operational teams following migration completion.
Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in project management or migration methodologies is advantageous.
