About the Role

As Warehouse Manager, you will take full responsibility for the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a diverse portfolio of fast-moving consumer goods. You will drive warehouse operational excellence through effective leadership, stringent stock management, adherence to compliance standards, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Executive, you will play a key role in ensuring that productivity, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction remain at the forefront of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Oversee the daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Ensure accuracy and efficiency across all warehouse functions with strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.
• Maintain robust stock control systems through cycle counts, reconciliations, and inventory reporting.
• Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

People Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of warehouse staff to achieve high-performance targets.
• Oversee workforce planning, shift scheduling, and performance management.
• Drive staff training, career development, and succession planning initiatives.
• Foster a safe, collaborative, and respectful working culture.

Process & Performance Improvement

• Implement lean warehousing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Drive initiatives that improve space utilisation, accuracy, and turnaround times.
• Monitor, analyse, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Leverage warehouse technologies (WMS, barcoding systems, ERP) to optimise operations.

Stakeholder & Supply Chain Collaboration

• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to align stock availability with demand.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transport companies.
• Provide accurate inventory and distribution updates to internal stakeholders.

Financial Management

• Develop and manage the warehouse budget, including staffing, equipment, and operational costs.
• Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities without compromising service delivery.
• Control wastage, losses, and pilferage through effective risk management.

Key Requirements

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications (APICS, SAPICS, CIPS) are advantageous.

Experience

• 810 years proven experience in warehouse and distribution management.
• Minimum of 5 years in a senior warehouse leadership role.
• Strong background in FMCG warehousing operations and logistics.
• Proven success in implementing warehouse systems and process automation.
