Reports To: Director of Sales
Purpose of the Role
The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving revenue growth through proactive prospecting, consultative selling and strategic account development.
The successful incumbent will identify and secure new business opportunities, build long-term customer relationships and contribute directly to increased sales volumes, market share and profitability.
This is a results-driven role suited to a commercially astute sales professional who thrives in a target-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Prospecting
- Identify and research new business opportunities through market analysis, networking and lead generation tools.
- Develop and execute structured prospecting strategies to build a sustainable sales pipeline.
- Attend client meetings, trade shows and networking events to expand market presence.
- Sales Strategy & Conversion
- Develop tailored engagement plans for prospective clients.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations and commercial discussions.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and contractual agreements.
- Close new business and achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
- Account Management & Growth
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships post-sale.
- Drive upselling and cross-selling initiatives across the product range.
- Expand existing accounts and identify new revenue streams within the customer base.
- Encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Competitive Positioning
- Clearly articulate product value propositions including quality, durability, customisation options and service excellence.
- Position offerings against competitors through differentiated messaging and solution-based selling.
- Reporting & Performance Management
- Track and manage sales pipeline, conversion ratios and revenue performance.
- Provide regular reports on sales activities, forecasts and market trends.
- Monitor profitability and margin performance.
- Customer Liaison
- Gather and communicate customer requirements, preferences and feedback internally.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.

Experience & Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12) essential
- Tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business or related field (advantageous)
- Minimum 35 years proven experience in B2B sales
- Experience within FMCG, consumer goods or manufacturing environments (advantageous)
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
