Sagen Advisory has an opportunity for a Bookkeeper/Jnr Accountant who has article experience. with an established accounting firm in Knysna. The firm is looking for ambitious candidates with the required qualification, who likes to work as part of a team, but is also willing to take initiative and capable of working independently.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates that have completed SAICA, CIMA, or SAIPA articles to continue their career at a well-established, reputable, and rapidly growing assurance firm where they will receive excellent training and experience.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in finance or studying towards and completed articles or in the process of completion, with relevant accounting firm experience. However, Accountants and Bookkeepers qualified by experience will also be considered.

The appointee will be responsible for performing various functions within the business and will directly report to the audit seniors/managers.

This firm of Chartered Accountants (SA) and Registered Auditors offers a variety of services with the aim of continuously looking for cost-effective, value-added solutions to their clients business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Compilation of Financial Statements.
• Liaison with clients.
• General filing and admin.
• General accounting functions including preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Processing transactions on Xero / SageOne.
• Performing Tax calculations and tax planning.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Completed or nearly completed BCom (Accounting).
• Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles or at least two years experience compiling financial statements.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS for SMEs.
• Experience working on Caseware will be beneficial.
