Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, calculate, and submit income tax returns for individuals and resolve any related queries
- Attend to SARS verifications and assist in follow-ups for individuals
- Submit applications for tax directives and other relevant SARS requests
- Engage with SARS and maintain professional communication for efficient resolution of client matters
- Assist in compiling responses to SARS queries and managing disputes or objections
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate tax records and documentation
- Conduct tax research and keep current on changes in South African tax legislation
- Prepare and submit AIT (Approval for International Transfer) and non-residency applications
- Provide ad hoc support to directors and accounting team with tax-related queries and advisory
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ tax and tax-related experience
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of South African tax laws, SARS procedures, and regulatory frameworks
- Registered Tax Practitioner (or eligibility to register is advantageous)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpretation skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage deadlines
- Proficient written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Confidentiality and professional discretion
- Hands-on experience in handling income tax, provisional tax, and objections
- Experience with GreatSoft Tax and Practice Management Software is preferred but not essential
