About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies, a leading healthcare and lifestyle retailer in KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking an experienced Casual Cashier to join their Ballito Lifestyle store team. As a key member of our sales floor, you will provide exceptional customer service while ensuring a seamless shopping experience. With a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail, we require a reliable and efficient individual to manage cash transactions, process payments, and maintain the security of our stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Report customer complaints and compliments to Frontline Supervisor or store management
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures
- Process all purchases, receive and process all payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons)
- Handle daily takings confidentially and ensure cash is kept safely and securely inside the till
- Maintain accurate records of transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system
- Manage line voids and price changes according to company policies
- Ensure usage of personal code and password is restricted and changed regularly
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification
- A minimum of 6 months experience in cashier/till operations
- Computer literate with basic MS Office skills
- Sound numerical skills
- Strong command of the English language (written and oral)
- Basic customer service skills
- Willingness to work retail hours
