Job Description
About the Role
As a Production and Maintenance Foreman, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, implementing standard operating procedures, and maintaining equipment to optimal working condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate production schedules to meet deadlines and optimise workflow
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain to maintain necessary stock of raw materials
- Schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and breakdowns promptly
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Collaborate with the quality supervisors to address product defects and implement corrective actions
- Utilise lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and optimise resource utilisation
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
Requirements
- Matric
- Related tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- 4-5 years experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Proven experience in maintenance coordination and equipment troubleshooting
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in using production management software (ERP) and maintenance tracking systems
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
