About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our professional kitchen team at HotelJobs’ Luxury Lodge in Lephalale, Limpopo. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods while maintaining excellent standards of consistency, hygiene, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and confectionery items to a high standard
  • Develop and update dessert menus in line with seasonal availability and company standards
  • Ensure consistency in quality, taste, and presentation across all pastry products
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards within the pastry kitchen
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage food costs effectively
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff where required

Requirements

  • Relevant culinary qualification or professional pastry certification
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar pastry-focused role
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry production, and dessert presentation
  • High attention to detail with a creative approach to pastry
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good organisational and time-management skills

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (e.g. Bachelor’s or Matric)

Salary & Benefits

  • R8;000 – R10,000 per month depending on experience
