About the Role
Join Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a values-driven Company that cares for its people unconditionally. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Assore Limited and operate a world-class producer of Chrome Ore in the Limpopo Province. As a Mine Overseer, you will report to the Section Manager or nominee and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the mine.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and manage section operations in line with departmental requirements to meet production targets.
- Implement and manage health, safety, environmental, risk, and quality systems to ensure compliance with legal requirements and strive for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to annual departmental budget planning by compiling operational, capex, and labor budgets for sub-functions and submit for line management approval.
- Effectively manage sub-functions and their objectives in line with approved budgets (operational, capex, and labor), report variances as required, and recommend/ implement remedial action within span of control.
Requirements
- 5 years underground trackless mining experience, of which 2 years must be as a supervisor.
- Exposure to night shift as acting/relieving or appointed Night Shift Mine Overseer is advantageous.
- Ability to work permanent night shifts as Mine Overseer is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate.
- Permanent Blasting for Scheduled Mines / National Certificate: Hard Rock Underground. Mine Overseer Certificate. Code 08 (B) Drivers Licence.
- Advantageous: B-Tech/Degree in Mining Engineering.
- Advantageous: Mine Managers Certificate.
- Advantageous: Supervisory Certificate.
