Middelburg: Senior Area Manager: Supply Chain, Distribution & Export Shipping

This senior leadership role combines Supply Chain, Distribution, Warehousing, and Export Shipping under one portfolio, offering exposure to both domestic and international operations. You will be responsible for inventory accuracy, cost control, stakeholder alignment, and export optimisation partnering closely with Commercial, Procurement, Finance, and Operations to deliver business results. Key Responsibilities Lead Supply Chain, Distribution, Warehousing, and Export Shipping operations end-to-end. Manage Finished Goods Inventory (FGI), WIP, export staging, containerisation, break bulk, and chartering activities. Oversee customs, clearing & forwarding, claims, insurance, and international shipping processes. Drive monthly shipping, invoicing forecasts, budgeting, and cost control across logistics functions. Partner with Commercial, Procurement, Operations Planning, and Finance to align operational execution with business strategy. Lead, develop, and performance-manage multidisciplinary teams while driving KPI delivery. Manage external service providers across transport, warehousing, packing, processing, and export logistics. Job Experience and Skills Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related (Diploma with MDP considered). Experience: 8 years experience in senior Supply Chain / Distribution leadership. Proven people management experience with strong KPI ownership. Solid background in inventory management, warehousing, transport, containerisation, and export shipping. Hands-on experience with customs, Incoterms, international trade regulations, and carrier negotiations. Contract management and supplier negotiations essential. Skills: Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation capability. Strategic yet operational leadership style. High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills. Proficient in MS Office and logistics / Sage systems. Agile leader able to operate in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Apply now!
