About the Role

Hire Resolve, a South African company providing IT and communication solutions, is seeking an experienced Tier 3 Infrastructure Engineer to provide advanced technical support and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Advanced Administration and Support:
• Handle L2-L3 administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance for a wide range of infrastructure components.
• Networking: Fortinet Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, security appliances, routing, switching, and wireless networking.
• Virtualization: VMware vCenter and Hyper-V Hypervisors.
• Systems: Linux, Windows Server (2012+), Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Storage: SAN and vSAN storage infrastructure.
• Cloud: Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud.

• Manage Security Infrastructure:
• Maintain and improve security with proactive monitoring and event management.
• Managing firewalls, vulnerability management systems, and SIEM.

• Respond to and Remediate Incidents:
• Analyze and triage security events and alarms detected by the SIEM system.
• Respond to security incidents and threats logged on the service desk, performing remediation and mitigation as needed.

• Manage IT Projects:
• Assist with IT and security-related projects, rollouts, and infrastructure maintenance, including backups (VEEAM), business continuity, and disaster recovery.

• Develop and Maintain Security:
• Provide technical input on company IT security standards in alignment with industry best practices like ISO27001 and SOC 2.
• Design, implement, and manage endpoint security solutions (e.g., anti-malware, MDM) and safeguards for the organization’s cloud footprint.

• Drive Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for automation of repetitive tasks and contribute to the upskilling and training of junior staff.

• Stay Current:
• Remain up-to-date with industry trends in cybersecurity, providing input to the business on innovations and improvements.

Minimum Requirements

• Certifications required:
• Microsoft MCSE / Cisco CCNA / VMware
• Linux / Azure / AWS / Google Cloud
• EC Council CEH / Security+ / CISSP
• Fortinet FCP / Fortinet FCSS

Experience Required

• 10+ years of overall experience in a Network & Security support environment.
• At least 5 years of experience in the following:
• Network administration and support for firewalls, switches, and wireless (Fortigate & Cisco).
• Windows Server 2012 and newer administration, including Active Directory.
• Linux administration.
• Backup and recovery.
• Proven ability to administer and configure virtual environments.
