Our Client in the Montague Gardens (Cape Town) area, is seeking the skills of SCALE Operators, to start, immediately The Company operates a world class ingredient milling and blending service to the entire Cape Town The Company also services thousands of customers including, independent butchers, major retail chain stores, meat processing factories and poultry factories. Please do note, that we need to fill these openings (ASAP). Task & Responsibilities Purpose of the Position – To do manual weighing of works orders. Special Requirements or conditions – Shift work KPAs and responsibilities would include, but may not be limited to: Production Outputs Assist the packing supervisor on verifying the ready to pack totals at the beginning and end of each shift. Timeous reporting of faults or maintenance required must be evident with a proactive stance. Labels are printed, checked and available on time Quality adherence Ensure that all EHACCP is completed timeously and accurately 100% of the time Adherence to HACCP & AIB standards timeously and accurately to ensure accreditation is achieved Health and Safety Following due process when it comes to housekeeping and health and safety – taking into account the OHSA & HACCP and any other measures in placE Ensure than machinery and equipment is in good working order at all times. Proactively manage this and ensure that maintenance team is called upon to assist timeously to avoid downtime. In need escalate matters to management urgently where required. Ensuring that the areas within the production unit are maintained and cleaned on an on-going basis to ensure that once the next shift commences the factory floor and area of work is at an acceptable standard from a health, safety and housekeeping perspective. Candidates Requirements Knowledge and experience: Experience in a similar role in FMCG Understanding of the production functions and processes & how these work together Preferably Matric Preferably NQF4 or equivalent Experience in a similar role in FMCG Understanding of the production functions and processes & how these, work together Computer Literacy Technically inclined Numerical skills Health and Safety Technical competencies (abilities) Computer Literacy Production functions and processes Production planning Health and Safety Variety of Tasks: Repetitive Computer Unity Reading scanner – locating stock in warehouse. Checking and placing pallet number. Complexity Check stock to system accuracy Get resources from batching supervisor Matching lot numbers Check condition and quality of stock Precision and Accuracy: Customer complaint wrong product used in batch Scooping out product out of the bag can be contaminated by not following HACCP guideline like washing hands properly Breakages Rough handling Pressure of work or physical effort Fairly moderate pressure Physical work (back, legs, arms, hands) High volume Behavioral attributes Teamwork Function in a team environment to ensure healthy teamwork with all other departments. Need to be a problem solver and to be able to take own initiative when required. Ensure that the required resources are available on time every time to ensure that the shift can function effectively and efficiently. Ensure that the correct IBC bin is used, and the works order is correct. Required candidates traits.
