About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical/Yard Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Bethal, Mpumalanga. As part of our succession planning program, we invite internal applicants who meet the preferred requirements to apply for this exciting opportunity. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead and motivate people, instill good housekeeping practices, and promote effective teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a maintenance plan including check lists for all equipment/asset types within responsible area.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained according to schedule and inspection check lists.
  • Ensure inspection check lists are completed in full and signed off by relevant parties.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that certificates are updated and available before equipment is dispatched to equipment store for distribution.
  • Liaise with LMI to be present for witnessing load tests where applicable and issue test certificates.
  • Administer employees’ time and attendance and leave requests.
  • Oversee loading and offloading of equipment.
  • Weed control in lay down areas and surrounding areas within the boundary of Steinmüller property.
  • Road maintenance within the property as well as external when and where required.
  • Building maintenance including the maintenance of lawns, palisades and all carports.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly Supervisors inspections.
  • Do daily toolbox and safety talks.
  • Conduct job observations.
  • Do task risk assessments.
  • Draw up written safe work procedures.

Requirements

  • Qualified Artisan (Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical).
  • 5 Years working experience as a supervisor with relevant supervisory training.
  • Experience in the use of maintenance of different type of equipment used in the Maintenance Engineering field.
  • Knowledge of the OHS Act, relevant regulations and safety standards (risk assessments, safe work procedures and housekeeping practices).
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Computer literate (MS Office).
