About the Role
The Eastern Cape-based software engineer will be responsible for designing motor control centres (MCCs) and working with PLC software systems, specifically Siemens. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical processes and mechanical, pneumatic, and paint-related services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design motor control centres (MCCs)
- Work with PLC software systems (Siemens)
- Setup complex PLC hardware configurations
- Setup interfaces to various devices
- Project planning, installation, and commissioning support for installations
- Mechanical, pneumatic & paint related service and project activities on paint and sealing robots
- Build good business relationships with customers regarding service activities
- Implement site safety during projects and service work
- Attend site meetings and project meetings
- Provide technical assistance during production support time (breakdowns)
- Verify and compile data records of all test readings
- Meet project deadlines
Requirements
- Minimum National Diploma Electrical / B.Eng. Mechatronics
- 2 – 5 Years’ experience in Automation Mechanical, Electronics and Electrical Troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of Electrical Processes
- Ability to work shifts, weekends and overtime
- Excellent communication skills
- Good presentational skills
- Quality Focus & Team player
- Driver’s License and own transport essential
