Job Description
The General Manager (bread unit) will be responsible for running profitable operations of the sites, increasing sales and elevating brand image, while producing a high quality product.
Summarised responsibilities:
- Production: Produce high quality product at the required volumes at optimum cost levels.
- Plant Maintenance: Ensure the effective and efficient maintenance of the production plants, targeting a 4.5% unplanned DT
- Despatch and Deliver: Ensure an efficient despatch & delivery function at each bakery
- Transport: Ensure the effective and efficient utilization of the fleet
- Finance and cash management: Control expenses and monitor cash control and cash handling procedures
- Manage debtors
- Effectively oversee procurement, HR, admin and manage risk at the sites.
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a commercial bakery environment
- Registered with the SACB (Chamber of baking) is advantageous
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and leading through action.
This role will suit a leader who is hands on, has thorough knowledge of bakery operations (ideally bread), someone who is available to travel regularly and be based in Nelspruit.
