Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities Conduct statutory inspections and load testing of cranes and various lifting machinery in accordance with relevant regulations and standards. Perform fault identification and technical assessments on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of lifting equipment. Compile and maintain detailed inspection reports, certification documentation, and compliance records. Ensure all inspections comply with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and applicable lifting machinery regulations. Provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams regarding safe operation, maintenance, and compliance requirements. Assist with troubleshooting, maintenance recommendations, and corrective actions where non-compliance or defects are identified. Maintain inspection tools, testing equipment, and ensure calibration requirements are adhered to. Minimum Requirements Registered Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working with cranes or lifting equipment. Strong knowledge of OHSA, DMR 18, SANS standards, and lifting machinery regulations. Technical proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems associated with lifting machinery. Valid driver’s licence. Ability to work independently and travel to various inspection sites when required.
