About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman to lead a team in a fast-paced workshop environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine maintenance and stock control, with experience as a Safety Inspector and a proven ability to quote accurately on projects and jobs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations
- Maintain and service all machinery and equipment
- Enforce and maintain safety standards in compliance with regulations
- Manage stock levels, materials, and consumables
- Oversee all machining, fabrication, and repair work
- Conduct quality checks on completed work
- Prepare accurate project and job quotations
Requirements
- Recognised trade qualification in Turning / Fitting and Turning
- Minimum 10 years experience in a similar workshop leadership role
- Strong background in machine maintenance and stock control
- Safety Inspector experience with solid knowledge of workshop safety regulations
- Skilled in fitting, turning, milling, drilling, welding, and grinding
Qualifications
- Matric (completed high school)
