Job overview:
The Planning Manager directs all activities related to planning, dies, stereos, outbound logistics, stock control of finished goods across all locations and calling off of paper to ensure sufficient and correct paper onsite for required production.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary education in Logistical or Operational Management degree/diploma.
- Previous experience in a similar role would be considered Recognition of prior learning.
- Minimum NQF Level 7.
- Business qualification would be beneficial.
Job Requirements:
- Good communication and administration.
- Computer literacy (MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Valid Code 8 drivers.
- Own transport.
- Self-management and discipline as well as physically fit for work.
- Working overtime as and when required after hours as well as weekends might be needed.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Maintain a safe working environment and compliance to OHS act.
- Ensure adherence and continuous compliance to all relevant standards ISO, Food Safety ETC.
- Ensure all dispatch targets and deadlines are met OTIF and good tons delivered.
- De-bottlenecking of dispatch thus ensuring maximum output from production and eliminating stoppages due to dispatch full.
- Maintain proactive, dynamic and effective communication with customers and suppliers.
- Reduction in Paper stock keeping.
- Continuous reduction of old paper stock.
- Managing of finished goods across all locations, to ensure no stock loss through effective and efficient stock counts.
- Managing of floor space and half pallets within finished goods area.
- Managing of slow-moving stock and investigating and reporting any irregular stock movements.
- Eliminating of redundant dies and stereos.
- Cost saving measures and initiatives implemented.
- Efficient planning of factory ensuring maximum output.
- Ensure all standards are met of external authorization bodies to ensure continuous accreditation.
- Effective communication with external contractors regarding truck availability, scheduling and requirements on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Managing inter branch transfers/deliveries and orders received and dispatched.
- Ensuring deliveries is done in accordance with procedures and standards no exceptions.
