About the Role
African Mining and Crushing SA Ltd is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead and support Site Managers across multiple mining sites in the North West region. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, safety, compliance, and profitability across all operational sites within the designated region. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive business results and uphold client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support Site Managers across all operational sites within the designated region
- Ensure consistency in operational standards and execution across all sites within the designated region
- Act as the key communication link between senior management and site operations
- Monitor and support Site Managers in meeting KPIs, budgets, and performance targets
- Conduct regular site visits and audits to assess progress, compliance, and challenges
- Identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions across sites
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and client-specific SLAs
- Review and approve critical operational plans, schedules, and procurement needs
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years experience in mining operations, including 3 years in a senior management/oversight role
- Proven experience in open-cast mining (crushing, screening, load & haul)
- Solid understanding of Manganese, Coal, and Iron Ore mining processes
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively between sites
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
