Job Description
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in the mining industry, specifically servicing Tier 1 mining customers.
- 5+ years of experience in a senior operational management role.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams within the Heavy Earthmoving Equipment (HEE) industry.
- Proven business and financial acumen.
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of Komatsu products or equivalent heavy earthmoving equipment used in mining.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and SAP reporting.
Qualifications
- Tech/B.Eng Degree (Mining, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering)
- GCC (Government Certificate of Competency) certification.
- Management Diploma/Certification (advantage).
Essential Skills
- Strategic leadership and change management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, particularly in complex contract discussions.
- Experience in operations and process improvement.
The role:
As the Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of operational management. Your key accountabilities include:
- Strategic Planning: Translate organisational goals into actionable business plans and drive overall site
- Operational Management: Oversee all site operations, including technical services, supply chain, inventory management, and warehousing.
- Financial Stewardship: Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure profitability across the depot/branch/customer segment.
- Human Capital Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing technical team.
Key Account Management: Build and maintain strong business relationships with Tier 1 customers, lead contract negotiations, and manage key account sales.
