About the Role
The purpose of this Store Manager position is to lead a successful retail store through the execution of marketing and operations plans. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of the store’s functionality, including marketing, administration, logistics, HR, sales, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Management: Responsible for maintaining the store’s appearance and ensuring that fixtures and fittings are accounted for and maintained.
- Co-ordination of maintenance and repair services
- Protect and secure all company assets in the store
- Stock Control: Accountable for stock levels, identifying slow-selling items, conducting stock takes, and managing shrinkage within company requirements.
- Merchandising: Manage merchandise quality and quantity, coordinating shelf layouts and seasonal displays, and promoting new ways of showcasing products.
- Marketing and Sales: Implement marketing promotions to maximize sales opportunities, provide sales leadership to staff, and stay up-to-date with current advertising trends.
- Administration and Cash: Ensure standard administration procedures are followed, manage controllable expenses, and report daily figures to the Area Manager.
- Security / Risk: Manage store security, monitor security staff, and ensure Health & Safety standards are met.
- Customer Services: Train staff in customer service, assist customers with enquiries and complaints, and apply customer service principles daily.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- NQF 5/6 Certificate or Diploma in Retail/Business Management (preferable)
- Valid Driver’s License – Code 8 unendorsed
- 2-5 years in relevant Sales/retail/operations environment as an Assistant Manager/Manager
