About the Role
Takora Pty Ltd is seeking an Intermediate Metallurgist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting metallurgical analysis and materials testing, as well as contributing to the development of heat treatment processes and phase diagrams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct metallurgical analysis and materials testing
- Prepare metallographic samples for microscopy and data analysis
- Operate metallographic software and data analysis tools
- Analyze heat treatment processes and phase diagrams
- Apply knowledge of industry standards (ASTM, ISO)
- Operate and maintain metallurgical testing equipment (SEM, XRD, hardness testers, tensile testing machines)
- Develop expertise in welding metallurgy and joining processes
- Investigate corrosion mechanisms and prevention methods
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science
- 3-5 years of experience in metallurgical analysis and materials testing
- Experience with metallographic preparation and microscopy techniques
- Proficiency with metallographic software and data analysis tools
- Knowledge of heat treatment processes and phase diagrams
- Familiarity with industry standards (ASTM, ISO)
- Proficiency with metallurgical testing equipment
- Knowledge of welding metallurgy and joining processes
- Understanding of corrosion mechanisms and prevention methods
Qualifications
- Formal education in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science
