About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in Paarl, South Africa. As the financial backbone of our hospitality group, you will be responsible for managing the full finance function across multiple entities within the group. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-obsessed and commercially sharp individual to take ownership of the financial accounts and drive smart business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the financial accounts across four companies
- Ensure accurate reporting and clean reconciliations
- Provide meaningful financial insights that inform business decisions
- Prepare monthly management accounts, VAT submissions, fixed asset management, bank and revenue reconciliations, audit preparation, cash flow oversight, and releasing payments
- Reconcile revenue to deposits and VAT
- Manage Yoco and FNB reconciliations
- Post journals in Xero
- Produce rental and recovery invoices
- Oversee creditors and stock control functions
- Work closely with department heads on budgets and forecasts
- Provide variance analysis and identify cost efficiencies
- Mentor junior finance team members and build a culture of accountability and precision
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/SAIPA/SAICA advantage)
- Proven experience in hospitality or FMCG
- Solid Xero experience (non-negotiable)
- High attention to detail with strong analytical thinking
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Lightspeed knowledge is highly advantageous
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA/SAIPA/SAICA registration (advantage)
